About

Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance began in 1981 as a volunteer on-call advanced first aid staff responding from their homes. In 1985, a District was formed by the vote of the people when the first property tax levy passed. In 1990, the Ambulance District entered in to a contract for management with the Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. In 1998, the District's Board of Directors elected to regain control and House 1 was built. In 2006, a sales tax proposal of 1/2 of 1 cent passed allowing for expansion of staff and houses. House 2 in Bloomsdale and House 3 in Weingarten were added in 2008.

Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District is an emergency ambulance service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with 3 Advanced Life Support crews in house 24 hours a day and a 4th ALS crew available during daytime hours.
